#### Lesson Stages
**1. Introduction (10 minutes)**
- **Greetings/Instructions:** Begin with a warm greeting and outline the rules for the class. Explain the day's topic and objectives.
- **Engagement:** Ask students if they have used a computer before and what devices they use to interact with it.
- **Review Previous Knowledge:** Quick review of what input devices are, asking students to name a few based on previous lessons.
**2. Direct Instruction (15 minutes)**
- **Presentation:** Use a PowerPoint presentation or pictures to introduce different input devices: Keyboard, Mouse, Microphone, Webcam, Scanner.
- **Explanation:**
- **Keyboard:** Used to type text into the computer.
- **Mouse:** Used to point and click on items on the screen.
- **Microphone:** Used to input sound.
- **Webcam:** Used to input video.
- **Scanner:** Used to input images and documents into the computer.
- **Show and Tell:** Physically show each device to students and briefly demonstrate how each one is used.
**3. Guided Practice (20 minutes)**
- **Activity 1: Matching Game:** Handout chart papers with names and pictures of input devices mixed up. Have students match the names to the correct pictures.
- **Activity 2: Fill in the Blanks Worksheet:** Students fill in blanks in sentences describing the function of each input device.
- **Demonstration:** Allow students to come up one by one to try using each input device connected to a computer.
**4. Independent Practice (10 minutes)**
- **Worksheet Assessment:** Distribute a worksheet with pictures of input devices where students will label each device and write a sentence describing its function.
